If wildcards ought not be used for sub directories - if separate <file> tags ought to be used for each directory - then maybe the following page ought to be updated to mention that?:

No, this is a bug, not a problem in the MODX spec. I did think I'd fixed this bug, however

I see. The bug occurs only when the directory being copied to (in your test case /easymod/) does not exist. Will be fixed when I commit next time.
