PM Folderlimit incorrect with many group memberships (fix completed in vcs)

Hi,

if I'm in 3 Groups a member and the three groups have a PM Limit of

Group1 = 100 per Folder
Group2 = 200 per Folder
Group3 = 400 per Folder

Then I have a limit of 100 per Folder and not 400 like it I think.

What group is your default group?

Ok,

the PN folderlimit has to do with the users default group. But this I think make users a bit angry. If they are in this three groups member they have to decide:

- 300 PN per folder and a pink colored name
or
- only 100 PN per folder and a blue name.

The attachment space is there better solved. There I get the maximum of alle my groups.

So it doesn't look like a bug really, I think :)

IMO a valid point. This should be investigated by the developers.

The main problem here is that some admins use groups to "deny access" - although it could be argued that those groups would have a real low value regarding PM's within folder.

But why is this different to the file attachments? There I get the space amount from this group of my membership which has the highest and not from my default group.

Also I can`t see any information about the PN Limit and Attachment Limit in the UCP Group management. I must make each of my groups as my default group to check how many PNs I can store with this group as default group.

Where did you get per-group attachments limits settings? Can't find it anywhere.

And another remark: personally, I think that we make a group default for someone to apply all the group's attributes to the particular user.
If so, I dont see the reason why some limits for user's default group (like PN or any other limits) shouldn't be applied to him.

I have to excuse me with the attachment storrage space and groups. This is got a Mod which I have installed. On default phpBB3 do not support upload quota group based.

At least I would prefer that the limits of a group are displayed publicly in the UCP. Then a user can choose which group is the best default group for him.

If the team change this behavior in the current version or not, it should be keeped in mind for phpBB 3.2 to find a better solution for this in my optionion.
