As per dhn's request I have created a revised list of the default attachment settings..

The key is pretty self explanitory so I wont explain, I suggest adding the extensions in RED and then evaluating the extensions in the other colours to see if they are suitable.. (However I have some doubts about some of the REDs too..)

First of all, the images category is for displaying those images being able to be thumbnailed and being able to be displayed inline - limiting it to jpg, gif and png. All other image formats need to be put into another category if they get added at all. I will try to revisit the extension list - most likely even removing some extensions.
