Can you please give more details, I'm afraid I'm unable to understand what you are trying to report

i think he says that when u upload an image for a group, if there's an old with the same name, it deletes it. if it's not that maybe it's that the old image gets deleted and the new one stays...

sorry, bad eng Sad

yes, Joablen, almost that.

if I'am not wrong, normally, each group have a avator prefix with group id.
When uploading avator in some groups. It will replace other avator.
Administrators and Registered Users are the examples.

The group avatars always get prefixed with g$group_id, therefore i do not know what you did... since you are only able to overwrite avatars for the same group (which is of course the correct behaviour since every group can only have one avatar). Users get the user id prefixed only.

Please provide steps on how to reproduce this.

I have been tested using differnet methods and steps.
This is the simple one.

I have two users ( user1, user2 ) member of Registered Users group and a admin in Administrators Group.

1.) Assign each users a avator in the order as : user1, user2 then admin

2.) Assign administrators group a avator, if you check the upload folder this time you will notice admin's avator was replaced with group avator.

3.) Assign Registerered group a avator, and all user's avators also get replaced.

4.) if this time you go back to assign a new avator to one of the users.
( I'am using a registered user user1 for example and haven't deleted the avator first) you will experienced the group avator get deleted.

Besides this method. I also created a new group in which have a user added from registered users group and removed from it. ( i.e. that user only member of the new group) To see if group avator is related to group membership or not.

I'am not sure is this if once group avator was assigned. Every users member of it will get restricted to use the same one ? But according to the prefix, I think it's not. Just guess.

P.S. I'am using IE and FireFox 1.5.0.7 and made IE with cache on/off ( i.e. Every visited to the page). but FireFox not because I haven't found this option.
My publicly opened testing forum also experienced this issue. here is refer url :

Thank you

One addition on it:
I captured some pics in the upload folder and placed in Demo forum of my testing forum at http://myforum.xlphp.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=13.

Please check it out to see if it helps.

Thanks,

From which panel do you assign the avatar to the user? From the user management panel? And you are using the latest cvs snapshot?

yes, seems to be the administration panel only...
