I would really enjoy getting to meet other D/FW area phpBB users.Our weather is generally awesome this time of year, so one potential meeting ground could be a local park. This would keep it low budget (no need to order food or drinks) and could open it up to a younger audience as well. We could call it a phpBB Picnic and anyone could come with their family, and we would all just show up at the same time / same place for a visit. I live in the northern (Carrollton, Farmers Branch) area and there are all sorts of parks around here, and none of them charge an admission fee. If we meet outside then it's obviously just a "meet and greet" unless someone wants to bring a projector and a screen to run a presentation.
If we need more lead time and want to schedule something earlier next year (Jan-Feb timeframe) then I would suggest setting up an inside event instead. We can determine the venue based on the number of interested folks that respond. One advantage of an inside event is we could have a more formal program like we had at Londonvasion.
Basically, let's start with a roll-call just to find out who is in the area and interested.
