Auto-Spam Bot with AI??

Post by Astig »

I just visited one of the forums I administer and realized an Auto-Spam application just bypassed word verification. How come?

And another interesting fact is that, the application has an Artificial Intelligence that can reply to, I think, random posts. I am sure it is not human because it has a signature that contains links to casinos and such that auto-spammers commonly do and almost all posts from that user are very much generic and might be sentences that is taken out randomly from a database.

I am running phpBB 2.0.17 with Word Verification (on), Enable Activation (none), Gzip Compression (off).

Do you guys think my database is already injected with malicious codes?

Upgrade to 2.0.18 ASAP, set activation to at least "User" and gzip has nothing to do with spammers.
