[Release] CA Halcyon

Postby CyberAlien » Tue Aug 18, 2009 9:06 am

Style name: CA Halcyon
Style version: 1.0.1
phpBB version: 3.0.5

Style includes 3 base color schemes:
Demo (CA Halcyon): demo
Demo (CA Halcyon Dark Blue): demo
Demo (CA Halcyon Green): demo

and unlimited additional color schemes: (click screenshot)

This style is tableless, it is based on prosilver, but with lots of shiny features other styles don't have:
  • Style should be compatible with iPhone.
  • When scrolling up/down, top navigation is always visible and it stays on top of screen. When you are registered and are viewing topic, it also shows extra links for bookmarking and subscribing to topic. This function is not available to IE6 users.
  • You can mark any forum as read from forum index. All you have to do is double click it.
  • New way of a new private message notification that user can't miss, which doesn't use popups.
  • In viewforum you can now sort topics by clicking on column headers ("replies", "views", "last post").
  • In posts when post subject is ("Re: " + topic title), its no longer being shown.
  • Show/hide categories for index page, your selection is remembered in cookies.
  • You can show/hide user's profiles when viewing topic.
  • Instead of showing many buttons in topic view such as "www", "pm", "jabber", etc.. all extra buttons are shown as popup when you move mouse over poster's name.
  • You can copy code to clipboard by clicking "copy" link in code's header.

All those functions have been added without messing with phpBB code and without using php code in templates.

Additional colors:
Using ColorizeIt script you can create any color scheme. Follow this url, adjust colors as you like. No image/html editing required - everything is done automatically. You just change colors, rename style and click "Download".

Notes:
- IE6 and IE7 users will see simplified version style due to IE errors parsing transparent png images.
- PSD files for buttons are available on download page.

Translations: 10 language packs are available on download page:

- Spanish (es)
- French (fr)
- Croatian (hr)

Style has been released.

Changes since beta:
- Fixed some bugs.
- New logo.
- Changed some colors.
- If logo is too large, navigation links will automatically move below logo. If logo is only slightly larger than links on left/right, it will move to left/right a little bit to make links visible.

I'll upload PSD files and language packs within next few days.

I love your styles. Minimalistic, stylish, awesome color choice for clarity. This is my favorite so far.

Hey, I really like this theme!

I would like to try to adapt it to match my site, could you please tell me how to change forum width?

I tried finding #wrap in common.css but I didn't find it. Also, I would like to remove transparency and leave posts with a completely white background - please tell me where I should change that?

Thanks so much for sharing your themes, and thanks for your reply in advance!

The forum width can be changed from template/ca_config.html
I think changing the transparency would require more in depth edits, I recommend removing the background instead, it can be changed by removing/commenting out these lines in theme/colours.css
Code: Select all
   background-color: #efefef;
   background-image: url("{T_THEME_PATH}/images/bg.gif");

Don't forget to refresh templates and themes in ACP/styles

Correct me if I am wrong.
