error converting from V2 to V3

Postby carphone » Wed Feb 11, 2009 11:43 am

Hi

I am in the process of converting from V2.0.22 to V3.04

during the conversion process i have got the following error below. It appears i have approx 300 duplicate users with identical user names. All of these users have zero posts and are probably spam bot users. So the question is, do i need to manually delete the 300 duplicates (which will take some time...).

Or can someone show me a way to delete all users with a zero post count. (i need a tidy up). Is there an sql command i can run that will do this?

Any help most appreciated

Thanks

Dan

Colliding usernames were found on your old board. In order to complete the conversion please delete or rename these users so that there is only one user on your old board for each clean username.

use the Starfoxtj Toolkit to mass delete the zero post users in the version 2 installation and then convert.

Thanks Steve, I tried starfox, but i have 120,000 users to delete and doing this at 200 a time is still a LOT of work :-)

For now i just need to delete the duplicate user names. Is there a SQL command i can run which will identify and delete all users with a duplicate user name. I dont mind deleting both copies of the user..

Any help much appeciated
