Hi,
I'm relatively new to administrating my own phpBB board. I've searched Google, the phpBB documentation, and the support forums.
I just want to know if allowing attachments on my board takes up storage space in the database and contributes to my database size limit, or does it store the attachments on the web space in a directory outside the database? I know it allows you to choose which directory the files are saved in, but I'm still not sure.
My database size limit is only 100 MB so if I allow pictures, it would fill up really fast. Otherwise, I have lots of web storage space.
Thank you for any help.

The files themselves are not stored in the database. information about the files is stored in the database, but that info does not depend on file size.
