PhpBB3, Wordpress & MediaWiki SQL User Account Merge?

Greetings. I'm currently in the process of converting my message board from Proboards to phpBB3. It's been quite a task. I've also installed MediaWiki on our site and am in the process of migrating the Blog from Blogger to WordPress (Wordpress option being used by my Netfirms server account).

So here's my question:

So I'll have these 3 different applications running on my site and each will require a username/password account. As it is now, I'm assuming that a user will need to sign up for each application individually. This is not something I want. Ideally, if a user takes the time to visit and use my site and signs up for (1) application like the message boards, I want them to be able to use the same login info for all (3)...php3BB, MediaWiki and Wordpress.

I have no detailed SQL experience...I've been able to just follow the instructions for the forum converisons etc.

Is it possible to create a system for these 3 applications so that there will be a single login procedure? If so, can someone give me some instructions and pointers as to how to do this?

UPDATE: I did not mention the WP-United option because I've read countless posts about how it is no longer being updated and to beware...also because of not seeing any mentions of a Mediawiki option.

I've just the same issue and I'm searching for an answer.

With students, we developped a SSO system for WP & phpBB3 by modifying the OnePress WP plugin. But it's not yet perfect as so many things have to be changed in both softs. So we're still searching for a simpler solution.

If possible, we would have liked an app-independant system, but as we've fond none, the base idea for now would be to use the phpBB as master application and propagate the users to WP and MediaWiki. OnePress uses that and we based on it for our system.

However, thanks to Dog Cow, I've just discovered that a new version of WP-United is out on "12 June 2009" ! It's "v0.7.1 Release Candidate 1" and has been tested with "WordPress 2.5 — 2.8 & phpBB 3.0 latest". This might be a good path to explore. It's at http://www.wp-united.com/get-wp-united/.
