Modification Name: Image Rotate CAPTCHA Plugin

Modification Description:: A CAPTCHA plugin that requires users to select the upright image out of a set of choices in order to prove they are human

Requirements: The imagerotate() function from the GD library (this is not included in all php installations, particularly on Debian, due to security concerns), OR the php ImageMagick Module or an ImageMagick installation recognized by phpBB

Features:

Uses the phpBB 3.0.6 CAPTCHA Plugin System for easy installation.
Variable Number of images to select from
Variable number of rotations of images
Flickr Integration for easy image selection

hm nice plugin but for phpbb 3.0.6 its not release yet

me use phpbb 3.0.5 is it work with this ??

Yes, this will be used in phpBB 3.0.6, but he publish it so we can use it in earlier phpBB 3.0.x versions?

It won't work in 3.0.5 the CAPTCHA API is totally different.

Yes, this MOD will NOT work with phpBB 3.0.5 or earlier. The CAPTCHA system is completely different.

This MOD is intended for local/test boards, and not on a live site. Changes are constantly being made to the CAPTCHA code in SVN, which may even break this release.

I will NOT provide support to those attempting to use this release on a live site.

Looks interesting Brainy. Saldy, I don't have a test server to play with this on -- for XAMPP on Windows, it says I hath not imagemagick or rotate_image() available. Darn.

Have you supplied any images to it? It does not come with default images to use in order to stop bots loading the default images.

Save images to the includes/captchas/plugins/imgrotate folder

Yeah, I tried. It just gave me that error with and without the additional images. Guess this isn't too compatible with Windows boxes, then.

To tell the truth, I didn't have much of a chance to test. I rushed to finish this before the plugin competition ended.

I would not be surprised if the image rotate function wasn't included in your windows GD library, and I doubt it has imagemagick availible.

Sorry about that. I'll update the posts tomorrow, as I'm dead tired at the moment.

Okay Brainy,

There is no mention in your INSTALL Guide about needing GD one or two nor imagemagick. Additionally, with 3.0.6. RC4 there appears to be a need for a path to Imagemagick, which is not mentioned in the instructions. Just to prevent future hassle, you really should "CYA" (Cover your A _ _ ) by mentioning this for the newbies. You really cannot give too much instruction.

On the other hand, I personally believe that your Captcha Plugin concept is potentially the best.

That is something required in phpBB's core, actually, and it has been around for a while (at least 3.0.4, probably been around as long as imagemagick integration). Check Attachment Settings in the ACP, you'll see that setting near the bottom.
