Is there, or can someone create, a modification that allows you to find & delete multiple members?

This is already within phpBB3 using ACP > Users and groups tab > Users security > Prune users. There is also a topic here that will help in more detail.

Thanks, but I don't have a "Users security" option...

Once you click on Users and Groups tab, at bottom left of page you should see this:

USER SECURITY
Ban e-mails
Ban IPs
Ban usernames
Disallow usernames
Prune users

User Security is a sub-heading followed by list of options. Click on Prune users.
