New Board Permission Mod Request

Post by AndyDufresne »

Ahoy! I posted this in the Discussion forum, and it was suggested that I ask for a mod here.
AndyDufresne wrote: Is there a way to disallow a group of moderators from acessing moderator logs, user notes, and maybe even reported posts? (I.e. in the mcp only viewing the "main")?

Thanks
karlsemple wrote:At a glance it looks very much like you would need a mod to prevent moderators from seeing the moderator log as there appears to be no default permission for doing it. I would guess this to be an easy mod by simpy adding a new board permission and then checking it when accessing the moderator logs. Might be worth posting in the mod request forum.
So is such a mod possible? I'm not sure I was clear enough, but it would be helpful for having different levels of "moderators."

Thanks

i would like to do this too. on my v2 board, i was able to have a MODERATORS group which was allowed to use the moderation tools (move, lock, split, merge, etc) and a SUPER MODERATORS group which was allowed to access a moderator control panel (like the administrator control panel, but only to certain areas like word censor or user administration). something like this for v3 would be awesome! :D

This would be a very useful mod. It would open up a vast amount of opportunities for forums.

This would be helpful. I know of a couple different forums that would benefit having some mods who can only moderate by basic mod tools, and not via the MCP, etc. Support for this should increase.
