Will phpBB have APIs for integration with other scripts?

Hello all,

Just wondering if phpBB will get better APIs for integration (or is planning to) with other scripts, so it won't take a whole rewrite for everything...

I run a lot of script websites and would like to integrate them with phpBB, but it's all too much of a process to do so.

I wrote at topic about this later before and I believe the answer is 'no'.

I don't know that the developers have the time or inclination to do it. There were a series of requests that were in the MMW (most frequently requested MODs) that was posted recently, but I don't think anyone took up the challenge.

Can you provide a more specific example of what you're trying to do?

We created a file hosting script a while ago, called XtraUpload, and we are trying to improve it's modifications and we would like to integrate that software into phpBB so people who register can get an account at the forum automatically, and a download center for uploaded files at the uploader page, etc...
