Embedding Forum Features on Main Page

Postby thefluffyshrimp » Fri Mar 02, 2007 11:40 pm

Hello! :)

I recently constructed a website and made a phpbb forum to match it:

My Site --> http://www.thefluffyshrimp.com

My Forum --> http://www.thefluffyshrimp.com/boards/

I've seen some sites in the past that have embedded features from their phpbb forum on their main site page and I would like to emulate two of the features I've seen:

1) On my site's main page I would like to show the Registered Users under the "Who is Online" section of my forum. That way users visiting my site can see who's already in the forum without even having to visit it.

2) On my site's main page I would like to show the "Last 10 Active Topics" as seen on my forum. This way users visiting my site can see what's been updated in the forum since their last visit, without even having to visit it.

I'm not tremendously fluent in php, so I'm not certain what I need to do to accomplish this. Do I have to call to a function to do this? What would I need to do?

Thank you SO much to anyone who can help me! :D
I'm been racking my brains trying to figure this out.
