Users can't edit/change subscriptions

New postby aka_bigred » Tue Dec 20, 2011 12:30 am

I'm just installing phpBB Digests, but users are unable to change their subscription settings. They seemed to be locked in some default, and are grayed out. (User Control Panel > Digests > Forum Selection).

If I modify the "Do you want to select all forums by default:" setting (in ACP > General > Digest Settings User default settings) to be all, that changes their selections (by selecting all), but users can not edit their own settings via the UCP. They can change/save the settings in the "Basics" section, but everything in the "Forum Selection", Post Filters, & Additional Criteria is grayed out.

I tried looking around the support site, but haven't seen anything related to this. I can't see anything in the Group's security that would affect Digests. I'm sure there must be something I'm missing. This could very well be a RTFM situation, but I can't seem to locate a setting that's controlling permission to edit one's digest settings.

My Setup:
PhpBB v3.0.9, Digests v2.2.19

Any help is much appreciated!

OK, did some more exploring, and realized I'm an idiot. I totally missed the DIGEST_DISABLED_MESSAGE that shows right above those settings. I was so focused on not being able to make changes, that I didn't see that it was trying to help me all along!

Hide
To enable fields, select Basics and select a digest type

I tweaked the message to be a bit more forceful so that my users won't make the same mistake I did.
