That is an Automod issue, please have a read of this topic and subsequent, possible patch.

You can also try to download the most recent RC version of Automod from here

It is basically choking on the copy root/*.* to *.* command within the MODx file.

If none of that works for you remove the<copy> command from the install xml file. Then run automod and the changes will be made to the files and you can just upload the files from the mod into their respective directories retaining the directory structure.
