MOD Writers Discussion Forum Rules

The MOD Writers Discussion forum is setup as a place for modification authors to discuss issues concerning development on their modifications.

  1. Issues that may be discussed

    1. Difficulties in starting with phpBB modification authoring.
    2. This forum is for discussion related to coding for phpBB. It is not for general PHP questions or coding questions concerning scripts other than phpBB.
    3. Programming concepts related to phpBB
    4. Programming techniques related to phpBB
    5. The modifications community at phpBB.com
  2. Issues which may not be discussed

    1. Not for MOD Support. The MOD Writers Discussion forum is not a place for creating topics to facilitate support for modifications. The phpBB Modifications Team does not have a dedicated modifications support team as such, so to help facilitate receiving of support, we require you to posts all requests in the topic dedicated to that modification. That means if the modification you require support from is in the MODDB, please post your support request in the modification’s release topic in the MOD Database Releases forum. For modifications still in development, post your support request as a reply to the development topic of the modification in the MODs in Development forum. This will allow the author of the modification to quickly find your support request or problems with their modification and to help you out or to fix the problem with the modification.

If you found the modification at a site other than phpbb.com, please note that we don’t have a place here where you can receive support for that MOD. You will have to contact the author, either at their site or personally, for further support or information. The modification (when downloaded) will contain the author’s contact information.
    2. The MOD Writers Discussion forum is not for MOD or Feature requests. MOD Requests should instead be posted in the MOD Requests Forum. If you have no intention of creating the modification yourself, it is a MOD request.
    3. MOD Releases or MOD development releases do not belong in the MOD Writers Discussion Forum. They should be posted to the MOD Database and MODs in Development Forum respectively.
    4. Any security vulnerabilities discovered in MODs listed on phpBB.com must be reported to the MOD Author as well as MOD Security Tracker. The MOD Team will then take the appropriate steps to remove the MOD and notify the author. phpBB.com does not take responsibility for vulnerabilities contained within MODs and is not responsible for any MODs listed outside of phpBB.com.
    5. Security Issues with phpBB should not be posted in the MOD Writers Discussion Forum. Instead please create a new ticket in the phpBB Security Tracker
    6. In addition to these rules, the phpBB Board-Wide Rules and Regulations apply to all Modification Forums on phpBB.com
