Changing mod ownership

Post by MarkDHamill »

My Email digest mod was recently approved.

I have an active community of enthusiastic people tweaking my mod. I'd like to turn over authorship to one of them. Is there a procedure for doing so? I think this way the mod will be able to gain heavily requested functionality a lot more quickly than I could do the work myself.

Thanks!

Just as long as they have your permission to do this, you can hand your MOD over. They just need to add themselves to the install file as a Secondary author. Its pretty much upto the author when it comes to switching who is developing the MOD.

Edit: here's an article on the MOD Author line

Hey wGEric, It just so happens that I'm the new Author of the MOD Mark was refering to, so I looked at the knowledgebase artical about adding my name in the install.txt but when I push it though the validator It returns to me:
Incorrect MOD Author Syntax on line: 4

## MOD Author, Secondary: Indemmity83 < [email protected] > (Kyle D. Klaus) http://www.dormlife.us

Do you know if this is just because the validator doesn't know about this situation? Or is there really something wrong with my syntax that I just am being dumb about.

If you would like to look at the surouding stuff, you can find the whole thing here: http://www.dormlife.us/digests_1.1.0/install.txt

Thanks

The validator will be fixed sometime in the future. Your line is correct though.
