Hello,
it should have some features:
  • multiple subjects with mutiple language support
  • recipients per subject (and language)
  • integration of CAPTCHAs and better anti-spam features ;)

HUGE +1 for this! It could even be as simple as the Contact Board Admin mod.

but every phpBB3 site HAS a contact page already at /memberlist.php?mode=leaders

at the very minimum it would show how to contact the Administrator and if moderators had been appointed, them too.

The situation with /memberlist.php?mode=leaders is as many people know .... although it is available by default, it is also by default set up with permissions that deny access to guests.

it is really not guests friendly anyway, as it just allows PMs to Admin / Moderators

so this idea from Martin is focusing on "Guests" I assume, because any "members" should already know of /memberlist.php?mode=leaders and could easily PM the site leaders

I'm neutral. I always preferred to have a private board where the user may talk to the forum admins by placing a topic where only him and the website admins can view and reply. Either way, I have no reason to be against it.

And if a user wants to contact the admins because the login or registration page is broken?

I don't think it needs a dedicated page but the registration page should have a section on it where some contact info is available perhaps.

And the login page as well
Please note that I will not be porting any of my mods to phpBB 3.1. Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.

How about the Contact Admin email link on the bad-login page?
It probably should be easier to find than it currently is....

Trouble is you can only see it with the old broken GD CAPTCHAs. If you swap to Q&A it disappears because the language text is different.

I agree, an easier, more obvious location would certainly be beneficial.

No.
There is a "Board Administrator" Email link on the login page, if you put in a bad username.
Try logging in with a blank username and something in the password.

Hello,
yes, I mean a page for guests contact. But it can be used for registered and logged-in users, too.

Contact Board Admin is a good MOD. Some of the included features IMO are a little bit of overload. But some important features are missing (see my first post).

Bye Martin

Many members new (and old) to phpBB have no idea about contacting an admin via the Members link, etc. Most people that use the net look one or two places to contact the site owner/admin - the top of the page or the very bottom - and they expect to see "Contact Us", "Contact", etc. This site does the same thing. Why? Because those that design(ed) this site know that's what people look for (and where)

Contacting an admin of a site should be very simple for a member and/or a guess. One shouldn't have to search through a list... Likewise, a visitor shouldn't have to register just to contact the website admin(s).

Simple is always best ;)

Board who have a good imprint, about us, credit page don't have this problem. Maybe a implementation of a custom-additional-page-mod or something, would be easier. But in fact, all you need to contact the admin is mail-address or a phone-number. ;)
