Now, many times when we create a forum, we don't want the messages there to be automatically trimmed. But every time I create a forum or edit the forum settings, it says "did I accidentally turn on pruning?" I feel like I have to double check.
I say: Have a yes-no setting that enables auto-pruning on the message board. If enabled then auto pruning settings will appear in forum settings. If it is not enabled, this field should not appear in the forum settings.
If I expressed it wrong: Let this be a setting for the automatic pruning settings to appear. It will show if enabled. So it doesn't create redundancy in forum settings.
Yes, it's automatically turned off, but it makes you hesitate; Did I accidentally click it?
Making a forum is something you don't do very often. It doesn't matter if there's redundant information on the page really and there's no rush to create it either.
You must have done it by mistake.
