If this implies it is done only once when submitting the post then the preview may be outdated at a later time. It might also lead to misunderstandings or frustation because the poster may not know that the board installation's server requests the URI, not his home computer, so websites that use authentications will appear as not logged in, because no such session was established.
If this implies that the preview is rendered for each member upon reading a post then it means the URLs are requested without the reader's consent - in that case I'll happily use this feature in my posts to harvest browser profiles from many people - no matter if they want so or not.

Spelling is freeware, which means you can use it for free.
On the other hand, it is not open source, which means you cannot change it or publish it in a modified form.
