User Registration | Inactive Users

Post by Harewood »

Hi,
Capture.PNG
Would it be possible to have a "Web" button here so that it opens a new browser tab with the users url taken from their email address to view their website? Would make life easier than cutting and pasting everytime I check the authenticity of each new user registration ;)

A users email address doesn’t necessarily bear any relationship to the users domain, if he even has one, or am I missing something?

Not sure what you would glean from going to gmail dot com to check a user's validity

There is setting under security settings to check if it's valid domain. Check email domain for valid MX record: This can be useful if you are not using email verification. An MX record is simply DNS record where to route email for the domain.

Most of the accounts are going to be Gmail and other services including spammers. Very few would be odd balls and even rarer the occasional spammer from an obscure domain. You can use the prune feature to find and delete those registrations and then use wildcard to ban the domain.

One last thing to keep in mind, you don't necessarily need a website to have email accounts for the domain.
