Phpbb Style-Builder Anyone?

Post by deepndark »

It would be neat to have one. So one would not need to have all the required skills in the as big manner anymore.
I right now have more like bootlegged everything, which is a compromised method atm.

A colouriser would be good (similar to what used to be available several years ago) so you can take the basic default style and easily, with sliders, change the colour. That would then give you a downloaded css file/s to upload.

Sounds good. Yeah, indeed at least a way to change colors. Maybe also forum dimension changer in a simple way. Cheers!
Edit: and the auto-position-changer if you want bigger dimensions i.e. autoscale.

I've just started working on the possibility to easily change the main colour of prosilver, it's far from finished as I still have a couple of colour and saturation sliders to add, as well as a JS function to store the values, but I already have the basis to work on.
It's quite fun! ^^

Can I suggest that you start a topic in Extensions in Development, even if it is still in its development phase and not ready for release.

But it's not an extension :)

I just modified the colours.css file with CSS custom properties, and added some JS to use sliders and store values.

Yes, I will create a topic in the styles forum, although I don't think users will be interested as there is a relatively large choice of styles, and colouring a "prosilver" is just an anecdote in the middle of it all.

If users aren’t interested do you think it should be added to the core?

That's really nicely done.
I can see people liking that a lot to just change the general colour swash of the board to greens if you had a site about nature or blues for a flying club, sporting club colours etc. I like it.

I've seen something with similar functionality a year or 2 ago and wasn't all that impressed but this looks good (and seeing Aeolus again makes me nostalgic ;-))
Spelling is freeware, which means you can use it for free.
On the other hand, it is not open source, which means you cannot change it or publish it in a modified form.

Nope, but maybe an extension that would allow you to select the colours and then download a CSS file containing the changes would interest some people.

A bit like colorizeit, the former Arty site.

But I don't have the skills to do that, I'm limited to HTML/CSS as an amateur.

Thx, I'll put the project on github and open a topic in the style support forum when I'm a bit further along.
