Production server is 5.0.x, dev is 5.5.x - perhaps a contributing factor?

That's the same error I was talking about earlier where I thought it was missing the semi-colon. We were running the same script on the same DB, just on different servers.

Re: [Split From] Error: Cannot post a new topic

They do; both use utf8_unicode_ci by default currently. Prior to the update, I'm sure they both used utf8_bin, but as above, I can't modify the collation of post_text. Edit: Actually, I just realised what phpMyAdmin was doing with that query when I tried to modify the field collation and possibly wh...

Re: [Split From] Error: Cannot post a new topic

After sorting out the character sets (they're utf8/utf8_bin now, with the exception of the individually-set field collations), restoring the database to its previous state and re-running the script, I'm unfortunately faced with the exact same as above. The initial syntax error at: ALTER TABLE phpbb3...

Re: [Split From] Error: Cannot post a new topic

I can't speak for the production server, but on my dev server, collation for post_text is utf8_bin, character set for the posts table is... right enough, appears to be latin1. I'll sort that out and give the script a try again. Cheers.

Re: Error: Cannot post a new topic

I noticed that for the above, in MySQL 5.x the following query: ALTER TABLE phpbb3_posts ADD FULLTEXT (post_subject), ADD FULLTEXT (post_text), ADD FULLTEXT post_content (post_subject, post_text) # Table: 'phpbb3_privmsgs' ALTER TABLE phpbb3_privmsgs MODIFY msg_id mediumint(8) UNSIGNED NOT NULL auto...

Apparently not. That mistaken line of questioning was my fault.

Re: [Scotland, UK] phpBB Meeting 24th January 2009

Well damn, I just noticed this tonight - along with cherokee red's gig in Bar Bloc - what rubbish timing! I was lamenting to Nils about this; I would've loved to have gone to both events (I've played in Bar Bloc myself in the past). This also has to be about the 3rd time I've missed meeting Ash! A l...

How exactly does living in England make you a snob? I find your comment racist and uncalled for.
I find you to be excessively English, this is very offensive to me. Please curtail your Englishness.

Re: Where you would like to live

Wow it seems like people from the UK dont like where they live. Is it really that bad over there? England and Edinburgh suck. Beyond that, it's actually quite nice. I live in the far south of Glasgow, Scotland, and I really like it here. I'd stay permanently if not for the fact that my job takes me...

Re: Where you would like to live

ps. Scotland isn't all that great. No matter what people say, I'd be against reccommending people to live here. Junkies and neds (chavs) are slowly taking over, housing is getting sorely expensive, the state of the roads are attrocious and don't even get me started on the people that are running ou...

Re: What phpBB Team Members do you want to meet?

Well that's just a positively fantastic reply. Is this then meant to be a game of 'guess the identity of the old adversary hiding behind a newly registered account'? Oh, I do love those. Clayton, old chap, do you fancy playing along too? That would be so grand!
