Re: How do I modifiy the PM pop-up box?

Hehe.... right under my nose.

It looks like I might have knocked it out of kilter when I tweaked the stylesheet.

Thanks!

How do I modifiy the PM pop-up box?

I installed board style Xandred, which is based off of SubSilver2. I came across an issue that I want to solve. When the new PM pop-up box opens, the text is not left justified, it's centered. I have to move a scroll bar in the pop-up window in order to click "Go to your inbox". Where should I start...

Re: Has cheap hosting improved in the last few years?

I currently pay about $40/month for 4GB of space and 60GB of bandwidth. It's a little on the high side I think, but I stuck with it all these years because it's worked well for me. It's also a reseller account (although I don't use it to resell) and I love having the flexibility to manage everything...

Re: Has cheap hosting improved in the last few years?

Yes and no. I was hoping for a somewhat unbiased opinion rather than folks loaded with potential motives behind their answers. It would be like walking into a chocolate conference run by women, and asking if chocolate is better than sex. I'll try that option anyway and see what kind of fee...

Has cheap hosting improved in the last few years?

As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. I'm just wondering if web hosting as a whole has improved over the years when speaking in terms of value versus quality. Currently I'm paying quite a bit for hosting my forum, and the db is fairly large at over 400mb. The overall stability and response t...

Re: Bad arguments -and- headers already sent errors

I found two records in the user log with the following details: User changed default group » My assumption is the missing group name is the problem. When I delete the entries the error goes away. I'm not sure how this happened, and I can't reproduce it. Odd. Perhaps this was a bug a while ago and al...

Re: Bad arguments -and- headers already sent errors

I nuked the User Logs on my test box and the error went away. Thanks for the tip!

Now I'm just a bit curious which log entry is causing the error, and if it's due to conversion issue or an actual bug in the code. Any suggestions on what to look for?

Re: If you were asked to build a website for homeless cats...

Well, I finally downloaded Joomla. The installation was painless. Overall it's pretty impressive, but it's not perfect. Joomla could definately take a few pointers from phpbb3 when it comes to administrative options and the permission system. For a small project like mine it will be ok though. I can...

I know someone that uses this which allows easy creation of websites. You can add news and things. It is possible install further plugins. Worth a look. It may involve the things you're looking for. http://www.joomla.org/ I've actually been eyeing Joomla. I'm not certain that it does everything I n...

If you were asked to build a website for homeless cats...

A family member is trying to get me to create a website for a cat rescue organization. The organization is run completely by volunteers, and there is no money involved. They aren't computer savvy and therefore it needs to be easy to administrate. I haven't agreed to anything yet. I'm a little reluct...

Re: Message Popups are not working after upgrading

I think I've managed to pinpoint the problem. When I used a fresh instance of phpbb3.0.2 with a fresh database, I had no issues with PM pop-ups. Even clearing out the cache didn't affect the popups. So then pointed to my main database, cleared the cache, and bam... no more popups. After poking aroun...
