Do not count posts in certain forums

Is it possible to not count the posts users make in certain forums towards the post count. I have something like a "Spam" forum, where users are free to post irrelevant information. However, I would like theses posts not to be counted. Alternatively, is there a way to disable the post count altogeth...

Re: Logging in session.php

Ok, I am now trying the following simple code in validate_referer(). if (stripos($ref, $config['server_name']) === 0) { echo "Test"; } This causes a white page to be returned when I am being linked from another site. Commenting out the echo line seems to removes the problem. Can anybody help me? Why...

Logging in session.php

I am trying to log referrers and other stuff when a user first browses to the forum. As far as I understand it, session.php is the place to do it, since the session is established on the very first page view and then kept until it times out. When I add the command (only using it for testing purposes...

Re: Replace ip with forwarded_for in session.php

I am using (if it exists) the $this->forwarded_for provided by phpBB. That one is actually $this->forwarded_for = (!empty($_SERVER['HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR'])) ? (string) $_SERVER['HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR'] : ''; which is then validated ($config['forwarded_for_check'] has to be set). I believe there is so...

Re: Replace ip with forwarded_for in session.php

Thanks! It seems like the forwarded_for usually only consists of one ip. If there is more, I hope that all the magic phpBB performs on $this->forwarded_for will sort it out. Will try out the modification above and see how it goes. :-)

Edit: Tested it, works like a charm!

Replace ip with forwarded_for in session.php

I am trying to find a way to change the way IPs are generated in phpBB because my forum is behind a proxy, which causes all users to have the same IP. That means, that the ip as in $user->ip in worthless for me. The question is: Can I change session_begin in session.php so that $this->ip = (!empty($...

Thanks anyway! So sadly I can't use your mod, because in my case, the forum itself is behind a SSL proxy and every user gets the same IP.

So using the other mod is not possible.

Re: Determine IP using another technique

I have asked in that mod's topic, but I believe that feature might be complicated to make or take a long time (because I suspect that mod looks at every page request and does not handle registrations differently than other things). The thing I want relates mainly to registration and does not need su...

Re: [DEV] Proxy Revealer Olympus 0.3.3

I'd like to suggest making some connection between the found IPs and user accounts. If a user logs in or registers while behind a proxy, save that user name in the log. That way, admins could find out what IP made spam posts or fake registrations, without blocking valid users using a proxy. To clari...

Re: Logging IPs when forum is behind a proxy

Thanks a lot, made that request here: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=72&t=1661785 I thought it might be a very simple modification, that I could do myself. The Proxy revealer does not seem to help me, since it does not connect the found IP to the user account. Since all my users are ...

Determine IP another way / Save more client info at registra

I am using an SSL proxy for my forum, so all user IPs are hidden behind that proxys IP. I'd like to suggest a mod which stores additional information, whenever a user registers with the forum. These information should especially include IP information gained from other sources, like http headers or ...

Logging IPs when forum is behind a proxy

I am using an SSL proxy provided by my hosting provider to allow users to access my forum via SSL. This works out fine, however, all the user IPs now appear as the IP of the proxy. Is there any way to log the true IP? I believe the information can be requested from the browser in a variety of ways, ...

Re: [RC3] Email Digests

I've been monitoring this mod for some time. I'd like to ask some questions: I was waiting for the release version, however, it seems to take some time till this version comes out. Is the RC3 stable enough to be used in a production environment? And is there any estimate on when the release version ...
