Re: Updating 3.0.6 --> 3.0.7: No 'Update' Tab

... or copy the config.php from the backup

PROBLEM(s) SOLVED! I managed to get the right install package and got through the update without a hitch!

"Too soon old, too late smart"!

Thanks a heap, Kevin!

Re: Updating 3.0.6 --> 3.0.7: No 'Update' Tab

Prefer to PM it to you...

By the way, my bad: I must have installed the wrong package, which has now messed up my installation completely. I'll be curious to see what you can do...

THANKS!

Re: Updating 3.0.6 --> 3.0.7: No 'Update' Tab

No go ... deleted all the files except the 2 you said and it keeps defaulting to the /install/index.php

Again, will copying the whole installation back from my desktop restore the old version?

Re: Updating 3.0.6 --> 3.0.7: No 'Update' Tab

Hmmm ... can't get back to the admin panel; it seems I'm stuck on the install page. Question and I know this is a stupid one): before I got into this mess, I made a backup by copying the whole PHPBB3 folder to my desktop. Will deleting and copying back restore my entire installation? Re. MODS: yes, ...

Updating 3.0.6 --> 3.0.7: No 'Update' Tab

Newbie here ... Uploaded the 'install' directory and ran the URL mentioned in the instructions, but there's no 'Update' tab (only 'Overview' and 'Convert'). Then tried uploading the entire archive and ran the URL again. Now there's 'Overview', 'Install', and 'Convert', but still no 'Update' tab. Ins...

Re: Session Time-Out in 3.0.6

Session settings are set in Security settings (ACP :: General) Hey ameeck, Just quickly getting back to the point you made above. It seems that I'm not kicked-out after only 5 minutes or so of inactivity, here I seem to remember it being much longer in 3.0.6. Which parameter sets this? I've been th...

Re: Session Time-Out in 3.0.6

Very odd ... just realized I've been logged off from my admin role, but still am being shown as active! Hope this isn't a session hijack ;-)

Session Time-Out in 3.0.6

Can anybody tell me, where/how I can find and adjust the time until a user is kicked out (e.g. following inactivity or other)? I've upgraded to 3.0.6 and spent 10 minutes writing a post. When I wanted to preview it, I had been logged off and was required to login again ... my post was lost, of cours...

Newbie questions

Hi Guys, Just attempted to install this MOD (1.0.4 and then 1.0.5) and have finished the installation without a hitch. No adverse effects to be seen on my forum, but then no RSS icon/feed, either! Any ideas? I'm assuming the 'root' folder is the first one in my forum structure, where the index.php r...

Re: Advising Group Members of a Post

Thanks Kevin (that was quick!) ... but I'd like to be able to selectively advise, so as not to overfill their in-boxes after every change or post. Any ideas?

Advising Group Members of a Post

Probably a pretty dum question, but I haven't been able to find a solution for myseolf as yet...: Is it possible, after having added a post, to advise the members of the relevant group(s) directly from the forum by external email? If so, how? In my view, this should be possible from the post itself ...

Re: Jabber Servers?

Thanks narqelion, I've found that list, but haven't been able to set my ACP to accept my jabber.org account (assuming here that the account has to be with the server selected)... I get the following feedback: SEND: <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8' ?> SEND: <stream:stream to='jabber.ru' xmlns='ja...
