Re: Creating a custom form for posting

This mod in development may do what you need. Its aimed at reviews, but seems to be usable whenever custom fields are required for topics.

Re: Clone post

Alan, Thank you so much for posting the code. It should put me on the right track. I'm not sure what distinction you are drawing...sounds like you are saying the same thing I am: that if a user clones a post from a forum he should only be able to select a specific subforum. What am I missing? I'm no...

Re: custom fields i new topic

Hi Exittor,

Did you ever figure this out? If so, could you post your changes?

I want to do the same thing, but have multiple fields per topic and then make them searchable using multi-selects.

Thanks,
Steve

Re: Clone post

Are you saying that if a user clones a post in a forum called 'cuisine" he should only be able to select 'italian' as the subforum target to clone it to'? Almost. The cuisine forum would have many sub-forums, such as Italian, French, Chinese, Greek, etc. Only one of these sub-forums could be chosen...

Re: Clone post

I'm not sure this meets my requirements exactly, but it seems close. Can it be configured in a way that the user is restricted to one sub-category for each category? For example, a restaurant related forum could have these categories and sub-categories: Cuisine --> Italian Price --> Expensive State ...

Re: Attachment Mod

It just occurred to me that I can confirm the tables myself. I downloaded the mod and looked at the table list in attach_mysql_schema.sql. All of the tables in the schema are also in my database so it seems that I am using the Attachment Mod. Do you agree? It's been a long time since I installed a m...

Re: Attachment Mod

Sorry about that. It's been such a long time that I don't remember the distinction. I'll post the question in Categories Hierarchy. Just in case, I'd like to confirm that the mod wasn't installed before Categories Hierarchy added the attachment functionality. The installation goes back to early 2004...

Re: Posts missing, but show in searches

The topics table looks intact in phpMyAdmin and the SQL backup file appears complete. All data dump statements (INSERT INTO) in the Topic table appear to be intact. There is no HTML in the file. There are a total of 39 tables. It appears to be a complete backup. Actually, I have two identical backup...

Re: Attachment Mod

Thanks for the offer, but unfortunately there are a few mods. That includes Category Hierarchy and a couple of others that I can't remember.
