Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.1 discontinues support for PHP < 5.2

Yes, IIRC Fedora has PHP 5.3.0 in its repos, last I checked. They don't have 5.3.1 in there yet, which is why I'd gone ahead and compiled PHP from scratch. Yeah, it was probably stuck in updates-testing or something when you checked :-) however, it's in stable repo's now :-) [Jake@localhost ~...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.1 discontinues support for PHP < 5.2

That's cool. Shouldn't be much of a problem for most people (Least not for me). 5.2 is a pretty good requirement choice, considering a stock up-to-date RHEL5/CentOS5, has it without need of manual compiling or modification (Though you may need to install it via the package management system first ;)...

Re: Google Chrome OS

Hmm I'm not such a great truster of google.

I'll have to see it for my self first before I judge it :-) (And stick a logger so I know what's going in and out of a box with a GoogleOS)

That is fine. Though, again, if the copyright dates are going to be changed or edited, it is better to leave them out entirely and simply say "© phpBB Group." Also, we do not recommend including the version number in the footer of your forum. While phpBB3's security record is impeccable to date, if...

Re: What do you think is the ideal Avatar Size?

My personal prefered size is normally either 80x80 or 100x100 depending on the style I use :-)

These two are generally good, as their not too big, but also, not too small :-)

Just my 2c.

Re: To what extent would you protect your site?

Hello everyone, Yesterday when coding up my newest site it occurred to me, "To what extent do people protect their site" . By protect, i don't mean the obvious security risks, i mean using Codes to stop people doing certain things. Yesterday i incorporated 2 JS codes, 1) Prevent Right-Click 2) Disa...

Re: Powered by phpBB © 2000, 2002, 2005, 2007 phpBB Group

Right.. well theirs some big posts here :D Which is great.. but it got me a little confused. And scanning through I didn't see the proper answer. See, I've got a forum, and the way the custom template is, the HUGE copyright line is kinda "messy" So what I've done is changed it to this.. Powered by p...
