Re: [REQ] Facebook Connect for phpBB - Urgent!

I guess this request deserve more attention. If someone were to take up this responsibility for the sake of the entire phpBB users, please consider allowing users to choose their own username in the forum instead of pulling their real name from Facebook. I suppose most forum users prefer to stay an...

Re: [BETA] Knowledge Base

Could you post the code changes please. I've already modified at least one of the above files (I think just changes to page titles but not sure). I also have fixes for this PHPBB MOD I mentioned here (moving articles to different categories doesn't work without the fix): http://www.mx-system.com/for...

I must have missed some cross-site scripting ones. I think some of the SQL injections only affected queries that didn't change the tables but not sure now. I may have missed something serious though.

Well I think I've patched all the serious security ones and there have been many since mine is quite an old installation. Some minor ones I'm sure I've left out (such as letting someone see path of script or such like which can show username of the server and also lesser SQL injections).

8O you can not just pick and choose what bits of updates you add or whcih ones you do based on whether you think they are needed or not. The updates are released fr specific reasons and therefore you need to apply them all fully, it is the only way to stay secure. Well I do apply all the security f...

Hi, Well if they can only replace files and not do anything else, then there is no real problem putting the files back as long as it only happens occasionally. This is the first time it has happened (possibly second) and my forum is massive with a lot of members and posts. A problem is that my host ...

I change the code for the security problems but there was a recent one that was a major overhaul that looked complicated and didn't seem to be necessary (just increases admin security etc.). Was this necessary to stop these attacks? No-one seems to say what is causing this. There must be an easy way...

Turkish Hackers

I got my forum index page replaced by Turkish hackers. I'm not sure if anything else was done. All I did was replace the index.php and it is working again. Can someone tell me what vulnerability they are using? I have a patched PHPBB (no fixed version). The only serious thing I haven't properly patc...

oh dear....

I found two other GIF's in the avatar directory (not from me) dated 21st February. Their filenames are mainly strings of seemingly random numbers. Unfortunately, as I said, I deleted the one that was currently in my profile. The two others 'GIF' files contain this: GIF 1 (timestamp 3:23am) contains ...

Avatar Uploading enabled on its own?

Hi, I admit I'm using an old PHPBB version (personally modded) but it has been patched of security holes (apart from the avatar one). Basically, I disabled all avatars except for the gallery. I used to have my pic but when I disabled uploading, it stopped showing in my profile. Just today I noticed ...

Self popup Instant Chat by Admins and/or Mods to ForumGuests

I would like a mod that allows admins to Chat to visitors of the forum (if the visitors are not registered, so as to encourage them to register or help them). The admin would be able to see the referring page (how the guest found the site) and also the forum page first visited by the guest (at the v...

I've noticed that the next and previous just uses the topic numbers so I could change it so it has direct links to the next or previous topics numbers instead of the view=previous? The only problem is if the topic is deleted and doesn't exist, but I'm sure that is handled in the code too somewhere.

next / previous topics out of sync

Has anyone come across the issue when using the previous and next topics links show the heading of one topic but the posts of another?

Eg/ When using a next or previous link, although the browser titlebar shows the correct title, the heading in the topic page is from a a different topic!
