Re: New to PHP

Re: custom link in Forum Admin emails

Instead of $from what happens if you try $this->from ? (seeing from is a class field and not part of the scope of the function)

Re: SQL ERROR 1064 - MariaDB

Hmm, have you modified any code files manually before? If you look at https://github.com/phpbb/phpbb/blob/335c4a93a96fdde9721c2d6878db8a97314b2517/phpBB/viewforum.php#L50-L72 and particularly that first line where it says $sql_from = FORUMS_TABLE . Re: SQL ERROR 1064 - MariaDB

I'm not really sure off the top of my head what the syntax error could be in MariaDB, but could you try this for me. In phpMyAdmin, run this: SELECT f.*, ft.mark_time FROM (phpbb3_forums f) LEFT JOIN phpbb3_forums_track ft ON (ft.user_id = 4 AND ft.forum_id = f.forum_id) ORDER BY f.left_id Presumabl...

Re: Why forum over Facebook?

For some people Facebook might be fine, but if you have more ambition I suppose, then you can create your own ecosystem to support it and encourage growth.

Re: Discord Notifications

Thanks again then. Never checked out Github like that but I have now and is that ever handy! Nearly done with the coding changes. So begins my long journey into extension development and learning how to do this on my own. Once I have that locked down I will be back making my own extensions that hop...

Re: Ideas on topics for forum?

You could bet on a TV show that's coming out. If it ends up having a 10 year run and you got on board right at the beginning it could turn out really well... unfortunately most shows get cancelled pretty quickly  I was kicking myself for not making a forum for the TV show "Community" in 2009. I...

I'm also intrigued

You can try Sourceforge maybe? That's where we used to upload our files - https://sourceforge.net/projects/phpbb/files/OldFiles/

They've put together something for an ACP module which looks both fresh and stays true to phpBB. :)
