Re: phpbb 3.2 + nginx

Out of the box with the configuration in the docs I think it would be fine, mine was an extreme edge case :) I was mucking around with installing a 3.2 board on the same Vagrant box as the latest development version. It might be loosely related to http://tracker.phpbb.com/browse/PHPBB3-15400 but bec...

Re: phpbb 3.2 + nginx

Thank you SiteSplat/Gwyneth Llewelyn, that solution worked for me - I was also getting the problem of clicking the "Install" button and the page was redirecting back on to itself. I just wanted to re-iterate the answer to get phpBB 3.2 working with Nginx because this topic is one of the first result...

When I was 12 or so Without telling us your current age this could have been yesterday. any of the older versions of these You mean software-wise? TextPad Community still operates on phpBB 2. Nice! So cool to see a forum still going with phpbb 2.0 ty for that. Man, looking at the subsilver theme br...

Re: When did you start your website?

Back in the phpBB2 days, I think it was v2.0.6! January 11, 2004 - Total posts 106254 • Total topics 4612 • Total members 2719 I think a few of those user accounts might be spam bots! As I think a lot of sites experienced, those mid-2000s days were great times but thereafter the prevalence of social...

Re: [Discuss] How to set up a development environment on Windows

Does phpBB work with Xampp and Postgre? Sure :) I've never tried it myself but I found some information at http://www.7codes.info/post/13/install-postgresql-in-xampp-on-windows-and-integrate-phppgadmin-tool which might help. As I mentioned above, I'm a fan of Vagrant and using virtual machines to se...

Re: [Discuss] How to set up a development environment on Windows

I will be writing a follow up to this blog post which will be focussed on using Vagrant to create a virtual environment. To add, as per the title itself, why not to explain how to set-up a "real" development environment, with all the bells and whistles. Like Composer, Git Tools, Skeleton ext, etc. ....

Re: *Anti* Social Network sites

It's definitely harder these days for general chat forums. I think the forums targeting a niche/specific topic have weathered the social media storm a bit better - and I think you are absolutely right about the prevalence of mobile users. For mobile, simplicity is king - whereas traditional forums a...

Hi Darva, We don't encourage solicitation here - this is against our forum rules so I will be locking this topic. Please do post your extension requests though as it's more beneficial for the wider community that way. And in the case of some being hard to come by (like your highscores list topic at ...

Re: Private messages in PHPmyadmin

It is safe to say that if you can still see the private messages in your inbox then they are still in the database. After all, they must be loading from somewhere :) There are a number of different database tables that relate to various aspects of the private messaging system (_privmsgs, _privmsgs_f...

Re: Should I use phpBB ?

I'm thinking of adding the Forums now. Does it require programming skills to customize ? Not at all. Making customisations is now as simple as uploading a folder (called an Extension in phpBB 3.1), and clicking the "Enable" button to turn on that feature. No programming required :) Have a look at o...

Great Tutorial, but the images are broken? If you're having trouble viewing the images it might just be that the SSL certificate hasn't been accepted. Re: Adding to existing SQL request

Note: this is untested code ;) But you will need to join on the phpbb_users table something like this: // current time minus 60 days (60 days x 24 hrs x 60 minutes x 60 seconds) $visited_recently = (time() - (60 * 24 * 60 * 60)); $sql = 'SELECT COUNT(ga.game_id) AS count, g.id, g.name, g.image, g.pa...

Re: Install.xml will not open on Mac

As Kevin Clark said, can you please provide an example of a file that won't open?

Just a link to a MOD you've downloaded and can't open would be fine - just something that we can try for ourselves as a number of us use Macs and we can try and replicate this issue.

It will work with any sort of points or cash MOD which adds a column to the users table. I think this is one of those MODs from memory.
