Re: Categories Hierarchy

The server had a problem with Apache, but for anyone in the know, it's been up for the past few days. Also, I'd like to note that in Pierre's (Ptirhiik) FAQ area on the first page, Cr@ter$ site is no longer accessible. I'm pretty sure it's well-known now. I've lost all contact I've had with him, so ...

Re: Cant Edit Post as an Admin

The first question that pops in my head is why are all the icons like.. stripped from the forum? I see none for some reason. As for editing your posts, check the permissions to see if it's something there. You may have to look in both the Administrator group and Registered Users group as well to fin...

Re: need some help

Did you flush out the cache? Template edits need a cache flush in order to see them. (browser and FTP probably) ACP -> Styles (tab) -> Templates -> Refresh the style. To get around having to do that all the time, under the General Tab, go to Load Settings and turn on "Recompile Stale Templates&...

Re: Phpbb3 Default skin

Another way is to edit the anonymous user (by selecting it under Users and Groups) and force change the template used there. I think that should work.

Re: need some help

Same file as it's always been in phpBB. Look for overall_header.tpl in the template/ folder of the style. You can easily add a link if you follow the styling used for one of the default links. Of course, I utilize the a little of the parsers to generate any links and language thing I want to add. Se...

Re: Another News Mod

Ah, thanks for the response. Now if I can just install the forum on my localhost.. But yeah, I'll give that a shot. [edit] Got an error.. I knew there would be some sort of problem. Fatal error: Call to undefined function: smilies_pass() in /opt/lampp/htdocs/ch/fetchposts.php on line 117 (luckily fo...

Re: Another News Mod

Must do a big bump on this. If anyone wouldn't mind answering this question for me, since I'm wondering if this MOD works with Categories Hierarchy or not. We need this particular mod (or anything similar to this) to pull the announcements from a forum onto a custom page that is coded on the site I ...

Re: Your Opinion on Vista?

Happened 2 years, maybe 3 years ago, so I really can't remember that far back. And to prove my point about Vista ruining hardware: Vista can kill your hardware. I have seen it do so. It will assume and/or override options, pushing the hardware outside of "safe" zones, because the drivers t...

Re: Your Opinion on Vista?

Bull. While it's certainly possible for files to get corrupted, an no point will it cause the HDD or video card to become physically damaged. You just got bad hardware out of the box. Not to start an argument, but my nVidia card was working fine while I was using it under XP. I had no problems with...

Re: Your Opinion on Vista?

My opinion on that craptastic of an OS? Sure, here's what I put on another forum: Let me say about what I had to go through with Vista... I've been using XP ever since I bought a new computer to replace the two HP's I had (they were nearly as old as I was x_x) and it's an ok system. I can crash abou...

Differences in Code

Just some I'm clear, I've already checked this topic in particular, read it all. Now, I would be very pleased if SOMEONE (I don't necessarily have a preference as to who) could make some sort of list of code changes in phpBB 3.0.0 -> 3.0.1. I do not keep up with RC updates and have not bothered to u...

Re: such thing?

I know what your talking about, but I don't think there is an automated process to giving all the smilies a code to enter, so you may have to do it all by hand to be honest. I don't know for certain though as I pretty much never use smilies personally.

Re: Error Appear When Enter Forum [!]

Have you tried to install any mods or anything? I don't know any other way that would cause a syntax error like this unless the database your host is using may have changed slightly or they upgraded MySQL to a version that has a slightly different SQL command.

Re: Where can User change there Style?

Well, as Pit$Bull said, be sure that the override user style is set to "No" in the ACP.
