Re: 3.x to StarChapter conversion?

Unfortunately, StarChapter is not "just another host." They offer full-fledged association management packages. These are becoming increasingly common as website complexity increases.

3.x to StarChapter conversion?

One of my customers has moved from "website plus phpBB" to a paid host, StarChapter to be specific. While it's certainly possible to leave phpBB running as a read-only archive, I would be interested in hearing if anyone has successfully ported their 3.x database to StarChapter? Our board has about 3...

Re: Forgot admin password

That did the trick. Thank you!

Just a comment - The unsetting of Founder is done on the "Overview" page, not the "Profile" page.

Re: Forgot admin password

Still running 3.0.14 and had to recover my admin password. It worked and I know have access to my admin account again. But now I'm unable to delete my Admin1 account. I receive four error lines below. Essentially they indicate that founders can't be deleted. Did I do something wrong? How can I recov...

Re: ACP still reports 3.0.12 is current

Wow! Sorry, I didn't mean to aggravate you. I simply asked for documentation. I went through *all* 23 pages of the 3.1 support forum and found nothing.

If there isn't any, I'll just tell my buddy so. No harm, no foul.

Re: ACP still reports 3.0.12 is current

Can you point me to that information? I'm talking to another phpbb webmaster who doesn't believe me.

Re: ACP still reports 3.0.12 is current

I think you're trying to say that 3.0.x installations won't advise *any* 3.1.x upgrade availability? If so, I agree because that's been my experience, but what's your source? Is it an educated guess or can you point me to documentation? In any case, I wonder about all the 3.0.x installations out the...

ACP still reports 3.0.12 is current

On three different phpbb 3.0.12 installations, ACP still reports that 3.0.12 is current. Shouldn't it be informing me to upgrade to 3.1.1?

Re: Email notifications not working

Fixed: there is a settings option that allows me to specify email and stop notifications. Can you share where that setting is? I've also stopped receiving email notifications of new registrations. Never mind. I found it at UCP | Board Preferences | Edit notification options But I'm not able to turn...

Re: Upgrade returns to "Check Files" page

It wont let you continue until you delete all the files in that very long list. Did you delete those? No, I didn't ... Either I missed it in the instructions or I assumed (?) "Automatic Install" would do that for me. It's a pretty sizable list! Just a general observation or three, but the documenta...

Upgrade returns to "Check Files" page

My 3.0.12 to 3.1.0 Automatic upgrade gets to the Check Files page and counts up 1,452 changes. I download the ZIP, extract the files and upload them to their appropriate locations. After upload and clicking on "Continue" it starts counting changes AGAIN! There are still 1,452 changes and now I'm off...

cPanel Warning after 3.0.11 Upgrade

After a 3.0.10 to 3.0.11 upgrade and this morning's daily server cron run, my server offered the following warning: Below are the recently upload scripts that contain code to send email. You may wish to inspect them to ensure they are not sending out SPAM. /home/{directory}/public_html/forum/include...

Re: entering a line break in site description

If you don't mind getting your fingers dirty with phpMyAdmin or another database editor, it can be done ... Open the forum database with PMA and look for the phpbb_config table. Around line 210 you'll find a site_desc field. Edit that field ... Line1 <br> Line2 <br> Line3 Important: You must leave a...
