User Points

Hi, I'm mass migrating users into the phpbb3 system from a previous forum system. I'm not writing a proper convertor for our bespoke previous solution, but using a method outlined in an Bulk Add Users post on this board for simplicity. However, on our previous site, users rank/points count comes fro...

Re: Submit board settings.feature acp changes. error?

OK I appear to have resolved this by replacing the prosilver theme completely from fresh.

Then in order for this to have effect I had to manually remove the contents of the cache folder.

There really needs to be something happen so that changing a theme doesn't white-screen everything.

Re: Submit board settings.feature acp changes. error?

I have the same issue: Your board's URL: http://snakenet.com/battleboard Version of phpBB3: 3.0.1 Was this a fresh install or a(n) update/upgrade/conversion (please be specific)? Fresh install. Was this an install through your host? No, manual. MODs you have installed: Advanced Quick Reply When the ...

Re: Forums authorized to view

A_Jelly_Doughnut wrote:There is a table, phpbb_acl_options, which is joined with phpbb_acl_groups or phpbb_acl_users to determine what permissions a user has.

These results are cached for each user in the phpbb_users table.

HTH you skinmaster :)
Excellent thanks!

Re: [DEV] Paid Subscriptions.

One thing that is important to us with a module like this, is displaying a little icon next to people with current subscriptions, and a different icon for people who have at some point had a subscription. That way, you can see those who are currently supporting us, those who have supported us and th...

Re: Forums authorized to view

These are what you want... they will return the forum ids a user has the permissions for. f_list is to see forum. f_read is to actual read forum and the other two are obvious. $auth->acl_getf('f_list'); $auth->acl_getf('f_read'); $auth->acl_getf('f_post'); $auth->acl_getf('f_reply'); How is this se...

Re: [DEV] Paid Subscriptions.

This is exactly spot-on what we need for a site I am building based on PHPBB3 (I'm writing code outside of PHPBB that harnesses the PHPBB authentication and authorization settings). I need my subscription groups to have extended settings, this is for online radio) so I want to be able to say that th...

Re: Replacing Authentication/User Information

OK I guess that was to be expected, but is there any further information than the user/admin manual: Here it says: Unlike phpBB2, phpBB3 offers support for authentication plugins. Can't seem to find anything about them anywhere else at all. Not even in the source code docs. I'm guessing I can just w...

Replacing Authentication/User Information

Hi, I have a large site that I am involved in the development of. We're currently using Snitz forums, which I have hacked substantially to replace the under-lying user management system with integration to the pre-existing user management on our site. This covers things like profile, authentication ...

You will need to reapply the changes to the php files, but the database will be intact, so the ezmod install will fail as the database table already exists. You have two options really. 1) Install the code changes by hand. 2) Rename the existing subscription table, install the mod, delete the new su...

It doesn't. But I think it could be easily changed to do so.

To clarify:

This is exactly like Watch Topic.

It works in exactly the same way. Exactly. In every detail.

When YOU post, it won't mail you.

Test with a 2nd account. Watch with one, post with the other.
