Does this mod exist? (using phpBB's user system on ext.site)

Hey all, first off apologies are due if this mod does exist and I've yet to find it. I came up with no good search results for the terms I searched for, but anyways on to the question.... Basically I've integrated my site to feed off the forum's user database. For instance there's a file exchange wh...

Will an upgrade from 2.0.1 > 2.2 be possible?

I'm extremely pleased to see file uploads have b...

Function to validate a user?

Just a general question, not a mod request (yet maybe?)... Has anyone made a function (or is there one I could use already in phpBB) to simply validate whether or not a user is logged in, and return true (and maybe the username as well)? I currently use something like: //setup defaults $logged_in = ...

StraightDope.com needs phpBB...

Yikes, I truely think www.straightdope.com is one site that needs phpBB. Their vB system slows to a hault (not even a crawl) at peak times. Someone should spread the good word. :)

My forum has over 2000 members, and barely any posts! No doubt because I make visitors join to view my videos - even then I hit 50 gigs of bandwidth a month! 8O

Yup yup, that's what enabling "Enable avatar uploading" does. It will cause the profile to show Upload Avatar from your machine: _________ Browse At least that's what I did for my forum, I didn't do anything else. Maybe the mods here may have an explanation why it's not coming up on your forum. Hmm...

Sorry, it just's usually assumed that... :)

Anyways, I swear I remember my board being able to upload avatars from my computer, that seemed to disappear.. Possibly with 2.0, I never checked. Wassup with that?!

He means the upload avatar from your computer, NOT by entering in it's location from another website. I'm also wondering this.

Avatars not working

Well I thought something was up when my form field to upload a new avatar wasn't there anymore in my forums, and sure enough everything was enabled in the configuration. I then try to use the Copy from Website avatar feature but when I do it gives me the error: Could not write avatar file to local s...
