I can't see someone else trying to log in causing the problem. I also don't think it is the password auto-filling in, as he said it is there when he first navigates to the login page. I've suggested that anyway, will see what he says.

Thanks for your PM oxfordsi - sorry couldn't reply as i've not got 5 posts yet. It somehow fixed for me by changing to sending through the smtp server.
Not sure if changing the package size to 0 is the best idea, won't some hosts object to that?
I have the same problem, all other emails are sending but not the PM notifications. I've not got any of those mods installed, so its probably not a problem with them...if that's any help.
Possible dumb question...Does the little X at the corner close the banner? As much as i'd love everyone to stop using IE6 I do have members who use office machines (or rely on grandchildren coming round to help them update their computers!!) and cannot update and don't want to annoy them too much.
