I wonder how a 3D captcha (such as seen here) would stop the bots in their tracks. Generally, OCR technology works on scanning 2D text, even fuzzy and distorted (as faxes and photocopies often are) but not on scanning 3D text.

Is it possible for a guest to view private messages? For days now, whenever I see who is on, there is a guest from 210.173.180.160, and it says "viewing private messages." To top it off, when clicking on that URL, it is unable to give me a domain. I did a whois on that IP and it belongs to...

Oh, so when it is not highlighted, it is not unbanned. I just assumed that if it is even listed, it will be unbanned.

Thank you, Dave, but the problem is not whether I can ban all of *.ru (it is always the same domain, so I could just use that domain), but that I cannot ban anything without unbanning the previously banned IP range.

Is there a way to ban a range of characters? That is everything that is above ASCII 127? I mean otherwise I would have to spell out every non-ASCII character explicitly, and there are some 128 of them.
