Are you sure that the MySQL demond is actually running? What OS are you running on your server?? Jamieq My forum is running, so I'm guessing MySQL is running. It's a shared server. The database in phpMyAdmin advises it is running on localhost so I don't see the database being hosted on a seperate s...

OK, I figured out wht I was doing wrong...I guess the leading ">" was not needed? After not including it it asked me for my password (which I assume is good) BUT, now I get this error: mysqldump: Got error: 2002: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111) wh...

Weird, I have tried downloading a few times.

I keep getting the error "-u: command not found" after entering the mysqldump command.

Any ideas? Iam entering everything correctly. I get a 0kb backup.sql file afterwards.

So basically, it dumps the backup into whatever directory I am currently in?

I've been meaning to ask this question for the longest time and never got around to it. I followed the article to a tee. I created a sear...

I did the two changes and used the update_to_latest.php. I'm fine with that, if that's all there is. :)

Be careful using Frontpage. If you really want to use it DO NOT publish to your website using it (use an FTP clent). But, best would be jut not using it.

Convert the html files to tpl files (you could use the blank page mod to do this). That's how I did my w...
