Adding 2000+ users to a user group

I am in the process of merging 2 forums using <THIS> as a guide, but need a little guidance. I want to add all the new users to a group, but don't want to use the admin pages of phpBB3 to do it. I already set the group_id in phpbb_users to the group I set up, but that is only setting the default gro...

Merging 2 phpBB3 databases

So... I aquired a second phpBB forum that I want to merge into my existing forum. How do I go about doing this? I have done some searching, but the posts are old/outdated and I was hoping there was something newer. So ..... Anyone?

Re: Do we need f= and t= in the URL?

I have never heard of a single instance where google has penalized any board for duplicate pages for this. google etc are certainly smart enough to understand how phpbb and all the other boards/blogs etc. work and compensate for it. also, from what I have read around the SEO boards etc, google does...

Re: Do we need f= and t= in the URL?

Yes, I know Google will get to them all, but reviewing Google webmasters report for duplicate titles, it appears that I have a lot of dupes. Mostly from topics that span a few pages, as I have the same title but the URL differs by the start parameter; start=0, start=10, start=20, etc.... We all know...

Re: Do we need f= and t= in the URL?

So....
If I wanted to drop the f= from the urls, how would I go about doing that?

I have some SEO ideas that I might want to try out, and if I can remove the f=, it would eliminate one version of a page.

Do we need f= and t= in the URL?

OK, quick question. In the url /viewtopic.php?f=12&t=123 why do we need the f=12, when using the following url /viewtopic.php?t=123 produces the same page? Does it provide some sort of function?

thanks

Re: `Google says Duplicate Title Tags-solution to this probl

Why would the "correctness" of the title text have anything to do with your ranking? Say you have a thread that has 55 posts, with 15 per page post 44 is on page 3. Google has a chached version of 'foo topic - page 3' that has posts 31 to 45. Now you change the posts per page to 25. 'foo topic - pa...

Re: `Google says Duplicate Title Tags-solution to this probl

Another issue this might have is if later you change the number of posts per page from 15 to 25 or 30 or some other number. At that point Google will have incorrect titles for your pages, and might actually hurt ranking.

Re: `Google says Duplicate Title Tags-solution to this probl

I am just looking for official Google word on this. You are not going to find "official Google word" here. This is phpBB support, not Google support. I know, what I want to ask is if this MOD is even necessary, as many do not believe in the "Google Dupe penalty" I was asking the original poster to ...
