Re: New Search Field Returns Corect Data but Not Retaining V

Someone please give me a clue, an educated guess or something to waste my time so I feel like I'm doing something. Does it have to do with the field being stored in a session variable? The other drop-down menu fields that were already there like "Group" and "Sort By" retain their values after a sear...

New Search Field Returns Corect Data but Not Retaining Value

Problem: The drop down menu that I added to my custom search form works great, but does not retain the value when the page comes back up. When I go to sort the result set it sorts for everyone again. How to I get this field to retain it's value? I'm guessing the problem has something to do with "1"...

Re: Table width screwed up. Need direction.

UPDATE: Unless anyone else knows of any php scripting wizardry, I made an ugly fix by adding an internal stylesheet to the top of memberlist_body.html thus overriding the limitation from common.css. <style> #wrap { padding: 0 px; min-width: 1200px; } </style> Thanks to those of you who at least look...

Re: Table width screwed up. Need direction.

UPDATE: I kept pluggin away and found that I had left something... /* Main blocks ---------------------------------------- */ #wrap { padding: 0 20px; min-width: 650px; width: 100%; <---------------stupid mistake found That fixed the table too big, but I'm still plagued by the memberlist page in a r...

Re: How can i specifically seach custom profile fields?

For fields that are boolean values you need to modify your search form field in memberlist_search.html. Remember the values stored in the database are not "Yes" and "No", but "1" and "2" respectively. <dl> <dt><label for="icq">{L_CURRENTLYWORKING}:</label></dt> <dd><select size="1" name="currentlywo...

Re: How can i specifically seach custom profile fields?

... We are almost there... you just have to search for: $sql_where .= ($username) ? ' AND u.username_clean ' . $db->sql_like_expression(str_replace('*', $db->any_char, utf8_clean_string($username))) : ''; And add or replace the strings with the fields you have added/replaced. You left us hanging ma...

Re: Adding custom profile field to memberlist

How would I make the new custom profile field the link to the users profile instead of the username field? I thought it would be as easy as modifying the following line in memberlist_body.html: <td><!-- IF S_IN_SEARCH_POPUP and not S_SELECT_SINGLE --><input type="checkbox" name="user" value="{member...

WISHLIST: Customizable column display of memberlist

I know the forums are littered with requests and hacks for including a custom profile field in the member list, but I was really hoping that someone would make a comprehensive mod that would be included in the next version of phpBB. I'm sure many people would find a custom memberlist extremely usefu...

Re: How to build a Bot Trap and keep bad bots away

UPDATE Yeah, this wasn't just another anti-bot thread. But whatever. After I installed the textual confirmation the spamming stopped, but my log files were still showing them knocking just as frequently to get in. I installed this bot trap on my server and now, two weeks later, the logs are showing ...

Re: Displaying the TRUE ip address

I made a test page to see if there is a difference between my IP address and my "real IP address". I took the code you have above and added the encode_ip function from functions.php <?php { $ip=$_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR']; } // // Obtain and encode users IP function encode_ip($dotquad_ip) { $ip_sep = ex...

Google "Powered by phpBB" = 16,700,000 pages

I love phpBB and talk to everyone about it in my website design classes, but that result is too easy for a spammer not to take advantage of and harvest. <!-- We request you retain the full copyright notice below including the link to www.phpbb.com.
