Re: [BETA] Prime Update Email

Extremely useful mod, this should be included in the core! In a medium board I get 200 NDR's per day and I had to manually instruct users to change e-mail! I'm going to test it out today, I hope it will work!

Re: Issue with deleted PMs?

That's strange, because I was only backing up. During that I was playing a bit with myAdmin to get some stats out on average PM's per user but all I did was SELECTing data, never touched an insert or update statement.

Issue with deleted PMs?

Hello, During a normal maintenance, a database backup actually, a few users complained about long-ago deleted PM's reappearing in their inbox. I know that deleted PM's aren't actually deleted until the sender and the recipient both delete them, but without any changes on the database is there any ch...

Re: (Simple) User Management by Moderators

I'm sure I've read about this before, but I think it may be possible to copy the required ACP Files to the MCP files and change the permissions/code? Not sure entirely but I do believe that's possible. Since then I've taken it to Area51 where we had some conversation on what is admin tasks and what...

Re: [RC] Prime Post Revisions - View all edits to posts

Hello primehalo, I can't believe I missed that one for so long! Absolutely needed, probably missed it because it's not submitted! I have a couple of questions: 1) It looks very light and adds a very small sql overhead but has anybody actually used it on a high-load board? Opinions? More of a questio...

Slow "first unread post" after db restore

I just brought up a dedicated server to transfer my board over there. The new server is supposed to be slightly better than the current (switched cause it was way cheaper). So I decided to run some tests before moving, I used mysqldump and ssh to backup and reattach my database to the new box. The p...

Users with disabled PM's

Hello, My installation is a 3.0.6, I migrated from 2.x and at the time of the migration we had some banned users. On the 2.x board we had an option to "disable user's PM" while banned, I don't know if it was a feature or a MOD, but the problem is that when they were unbanned in my current 3.0.6 boar...

Re: Thanks for posts

Hi, I decided to try this out in my dev server. I wanted to ask these 2 things before installing it: 1) Can I set this mod to accept "thanks" for any post? or just the 1st post of every topic? 2) Is "can thanks" a special permission? I mean can I set a user "can thanks: yes", "can reply: no"? Or can...

Re: (Simple) User Management by Moderators

Ohh, ok it's a MOD request, I was actually searching for a quick fix or solution to this, but if others find it useful then I'd be more than happy if someone could build such a MOD! As a pros to this request I think it would make more sense to handle user's basic info without leaving the familiar MC...

(Simple) User Management by Moderators

Hi, In my 2.x installation I had a MOD that enabled Moderators to manage users' basic information. Basically what I want to allow moderators to do for users is: Change Username Change E-mail Address Edit Signature The only thing I can see is assign them an admin role, and the complete "manage users"...

Re: [3.0.x] Tweaks for large forums

Ok, and how is APC signaled to serve different pages? I mean viewtopic.php can?t=1 can be different if someone just posted a reply. But more importantly viewtopic.php?t=1&view=unread is different for every user, while the same page for a single user could be equal to viewtopic.php?t=1&start=100 . Is...

Re: [3.0.x] Tweaks for large forums

Thanks arod-1, you're right, I just didn't think of search because I haven't decided yet what will the board use for search (I'm guessing mysql full-text), I hadn't recreated the index but spotting it out now, obviously search was a smaller or bigger part of the problem. I still believe that it has ...

No! Well, I don't think so, I don't even know what this is! Can you give me a link where I can read smt. about it? I really hope it's something I missed and it will help with my problem! :)

Re: [3.0.x] Tweaks for large forums

It seems this topic is mostly about search functionality, but I have a different issue. I recently switched to phpBB 3 and it looks great. My board is a bit unusual, we have an average of 300 replies per topic and that can get even 5,000 replies until we lock it and open a new one. It is also very c...
