I installed the complete phpBB2 version 2.0.8 last year and due to unforseen circumstances and life I just got back to working on this forum and now want to update to the latest build. Man you are one smart cookie. Glad to know there are good supporters like yourself for newbies. I inadvertenly pulled the language folder out with the install and config folders..Duh!!

After phpBB2 installation,,weird screen.

Here is where I am at after installing phpBB2 on OSx 10.3, whats wrong with this picture. I can't finish setting up the board....

I re-initialized the database and left the password alone. I tried to login into YourSQL, using localhost as server, root as user, and left the password blank.

It failed. The Alert window said 'Communication link failure: Bad handshake'

ah crap,,,that's no good. I put the php files in the Webserver directory as you did and php works fine. However its the MySQL i am stumped on. How do you connect to it through YourSQL. I'm glad you had luck, I have none. Actually those PHP activation instructions were for 10.2 so really all you have to do is uncomment the Loadmodule, it appears to already have all the lines. But I can't get anything to work but of course Apache. I installed v.4.1 MySQL and I am not able to connect...
