Re: External URLs have local url at beginning

I ran into this today and saw the discussions at Area 51. I just want to come back to this once more since we've just got a support request based on this change. Many inexperienced users that I know of always use the URL tag in order to post a URL, because they think that's the way it should be when...

Re: RSS feeds

I mind the terms but in all this shi**y forum there is no clear solution to this issue and everybody I post I get the same no answers. It seems you are thick as a brick. It's clear you understand but you want people speak your language. So this board, although is not able to satisfy many important ...

OpenSSO

Just curious... Has anyone developed or otherwise integrated an OpenSSO (for Single Sign On) solution for Intranet sites that would be using Active Directory credential management for phpBB?

Joomla and other CMS solutions have it; but I could find nothing for phpBB.

Re: Discuss: Blog "Moving on - the future of phpBB developme

I guess that too is exactly what I am talking about. Mods created by people that are NOT "Professional Programmers" should be scrutinized by people that ARE "Professional Programmers"; especially in a situation where the vendor is slapping themselves on the back about how strong security is. The fa...

Re: Discuss: Blog "Moving on - the future of phpBB developme

Hey, thanks for that pretty long response. I'll try to answer as best as I can. I agree that one of the important goals for phpBB3.1 has to be an acceptable amount of backwards compatibility. We have stated before that the regular phpBB automatic updater should be sufficient to upgrade to 3.1, oppo...

Inviting User Participation .... Please allow me to add my two cents to what collectively, will probably surpass a dollar or two from the community; especially as discussions fork in new directions. First, I have been using, modifying and integrating phpBB code for myself and others for about 7 yea...

Re: Self Populating New Forum/Category Fields

Got it. Well, I've found this issue irritating enough (from a variety of browsers perspective) to decide to begin by breaking Strict Compliance for forum administration screens by disabling autocomplete in the forum_password input field. While I wouldn't suppose to speak for anyone else, it seems th...

Re: Self Populating New Forum/Category Fields

Sorry, I was editing while you were typing a response. Please review the other comments and let's go from there. As for the assumptions, you may be right, but maybe we should investigate the relationships rather than simply dismissing this as a "browser problem". What makes this a Browser problem ex...

Re: Self Populating New Forum/Category Fields

Well.. I figured as much... Now we must ask ourselves... "Why?" Why would it auto-populate these two fields, any ONLY these two fields with bad data? That is the question. The fields in question are not (or at least should not) be related and therefor should not interfere with "normal" browser opera...

Re: phpbb.com default theme

oh kay...

Is there a theme out there that is close?

I'm trying to find a theme that isn't stretched to full screen, but rather one like this one that is sized and centered.

Non-compliant "SPAN" Calls Everywhere

Hi First, love the new software (which i have been testing myself for a couple of years now). One thing that continues to jump out at me is while the software is designed to be XHTML Strict, I can't help but notice the MANY empty span calls that make sites anything but compliant. Is it a showstopper...

I really don't like the fact the this editor is non-W3C Compliant both in terms of the editor itself being on the screen, but also the format of preview data, etc..., but on top of that, it also inserts code that shouldn't be there into the database. I'm really looking for any information regarding ...
