FAQ for moderators...

I am setting up some forums at my company and I need to get a FAQ together for some of the internal folks who will be actively moderating.

EDIT: I came up with a much easier addition which allows users to simply enter multiple spaces with the chr(10) character rather than making them type out   everytime. Much much easier on the user if you want to allow them to do this... so I've updated this post. It's just a simple post-proces...

Just thought I'd mention you can generate a sample character set as necessary... useful in a pinch, but of course you should still buy the font if you're going to use it in anything.

It seems to be working fine for me now too! I swear I didn't change a thing... that is most definitely odd.

Well, if it comes up again I'll bump this thread but for now thanks for checking it out. :?

double-quotes in subject show up as...

&quo I know this is the HTML special character entity (aka "e;) but for some reason it's being parsed twice I presume (instead of being escaped?) in the subject line of my forum posts. It only occurs after the first double-quote in the subject line. So take this subject for example: This is a "t...

jbeer, the problem was definitely the unix file format for all the ascii files. I have converted mine to dos format and everything is running smoothly! Google up "Nameless File Converter" and drag/drop the entire phpBB directory into it, making sure you add "php" and "inc" as file extensions in the ...

jbeer, I suspect it's a problem with the text file formats for all the files. They appear to be unix format, so I am going to mass convert them to windows format and see if that helps. FWIW the error appears to be on includes and such... also it's causing IIS to hang, which is driving me nuts with c...

I am also running win2k/iis5/php4 and using sql server 7.
