We got hacked this afternoon (Canada EST time) by GHoST61... We are trying to get everything back but I'm wondering if the people that were hacked before noticed that the forums were screwed up after recovery? I guess there is nothing we can do against someone with with extensive knowlegde of PhpBB ...

Re: Open for guests

Ahahahaha, I'm sorry, I didn't tell you I have two forums, I was referring to the other forum but that's okay, I'll make the changes. I apologize, I should have been more clear! Thanks!

Re: Open for guests

You hadn't done this bit permissions groups forum permissions guests the forum read only (or whatever access you want). I just set the first Welcome forum to read only and submitted. This is now showing for guests. I probably misunderstood. Should the Welcome forum be visible for people that don't ...

Re: Open for guests

LOL you're right, I was going to edit my post but you beat me to it...

So I changed it to exactly what you said and logged out of the forum. There is one forum public and it has a testmessage, but if I log out no forums are visible. Obviously I forgot to change something else?

Re: Open for guests

Then also make sure the anonymous account is in that guest group. manage users anonymous choose groups from the drop list on the right. That account must be in the guest group and no other. Hi Kevin, thanks so much for this clear explanation! I did exactly what you said but in my forum there was no...

Open for guests

Hi,
My forum only allows access after registration, however I want one particular forum open for public. So I changed the permissions and added 'guests' to that one forum. But if I log out it doesn't appear. Did I miss a step?

Re: Simple moderator can close but not reopen

"Can lock topics" is set to YES

It would make sense if a simple moderator cannot reopen topics, there is simply no such option. I just needed to make sure there wasn't. If it isn't possible to change that then I'm gonna leave it at that.

Thanks!

Re: Simple moderator can close but not reopen

Yes I found this already but that is exactly my issue. It would allow the moderator to lock items but not unlock.

Simple moderator can close but not reopen

Hi,

I noticed that the simple moderator can close his subjects but not reopen them. Is there a way to adjust this?

Re: times out too quickly

That's what I was thinking, however if I change the server settings would my server not send a quick signal to the user's server that as long as it's within the 60000 minutes writing a message is still considered action of some sort?

times out too quickly

One of my forum members complains she is being timed out all the time even though I put the server settings to a ridiculous number (60000). Now her complaint is that if she has completed her post and clicks 'submit' nothing happens but the forum asks her to login again. Is this something an administ...
