@encryption: Do you have access to your database, via phpMyadmin or something similar? You also need to know your ip address is - do this by going to http://www.whatismyip.com . Next access the 'phpbb_bots' table (or [whatever prefix]bots table). Scan through each bot entries 'bot_ip' coloumn and ch...

Bots mod.

SGD, bot name has practically no function other than for users to differentiate between the bots - just try and make sure two bots don't have the same name  However in actuallity each bot entry is not actually signifying one bot, moreover a range of bots. Or critera to find a bot. Make sense? ...

One at a time!

Ok, i'm going to try and answer all your posts one at a time  @ minstrel: Sorry to dissapoint, but I doubt theres any way of changing that line of code to make bots show up. This is partly to do with the fact that bots aren't stored with registered users in the users table. I haven't installed...

Glad you got it working!

Great, I'm glad you got it working. Bots are sort of classed as "special guests" so they won't show up in the 'registered users visited this site today' list. I can change that if you want, but it would have to be included in the next (later) update :) As for making the bots names coloured its relat...

Ok

UJcDV, ok that makes things a bit more complicated :P First thing I need to ask is, do you have access to your database via something like phpmyadmin? If you do, access your phpbb database and open the sessions table, look for a field named "is_robot". Next, if its there (which i'm pretty sure it wi...

Bots mod

@ minstrel: Wow nice work, i've always been to lazy to write it up properly in the correct syntax or anything. But thats why, it looks good to me. I will try and replace the current install with it as soon as I have time. @ quick5pnt0: Quick question, which database server are you using? not mysql I...

Answers galore!

@ biffo: Hmmm interesting dilema you have there. Well there are several ways you can approach this - as far as I can see you can either: - Stop bots accessing pages . This can be done by including certain pages in "robots.txt" or adding a no-spidering tag etc. All of which could be removed automatic...

Wow! I have to say after being away from these boards for quite awhile I am really pleased to see how popular it has come! Thank you for all who have furthered this MOD and helped other users. To be honest I expected phpBB2.2 to be out by now and hence rendering the MOD a bit useless. However as thi...
