Re: 3.0.6 login problems

Indeed, board settings seem to be fine. Tested on all major browsers and versions. Your cookies look fine. Try changing the cookie name to something else (tack a numeral on the end) to force a new cookie on your users. Also, try clearing Firefox's cookies directly rather than using the board's feat...

Re: 3.0.6 login problems

I don't know if this causes your issue, but change the domain name under server settings to www.chapter297.com Or do you actually have that and was http:// in your post above added by the messageparser? What is the setting of "Force server URL settings:" under server settings? I don't recall if I e...

Deleting someone with the admin control panel is fine... Also spam can be posted through proxy servers... I do use the toolkit but sometimes I prefer to use the admin control panel. Thanks for the explanation about the IP addresses...I had a feeling that those could be fakes through proxy servers. ...

Unlikely to be their real email address or their real IP address. Most mods require changes to the PHP code and not the template files themselves. If there's a file that you have a problem changing, ask for help in the forum topic for that particular mod and someone will help you. Alvo, thanks for ...

Lately, I have been seeing more and more of the spammers completing their registration on my board and posting offensive messages. Today, one even posted a porn related message in a childrens forum on my message board. Since they have completed their registration, I have an email address for them an...

Unusual activity - guest trying to post numerous messages

I just went into my administration screen on my 2.0.21 PHPbb installation and noticed that it lists a guest over and over again as online and posting a message. This is happening right now as I post this message. The guests IP address is: 71.254.180.107 Fortunately, guests are not allowed to post on...

I never figured out exactly what the problem was, but I think Robert was on the right track when he suggested I reinstall my template. I contacted my hosting company and they restored my message board from a recent backup and now everything is working OK. I guess it wasn't a template file that was c...

Robert, thanks for your reply. I uploaded the Hestia template as you suggested. Unfortunately, the problem still exists.

Any other ideas?

I certainly do not think the member who joined with that ID is guilty of any wrong-doing. Nor do I. I just want to get their userid fixed so that they can log in and access the board (I assume they can't log in). To do that, I need to access their account so I can get their email address and notify...

Eric, why don't you download and install starfoxtj's Admin Toolkit . this will allow you to change the username, among other things I kind of wanted to keep the number of mods installed to a minimum to make it easier for me to upgrade, but I may install this one anyway. Sounds like it could address...

Have you considered editing the username directly in the database with phpMyAdmin or such? Or deleting the user using phpMyAdmin?? I can certainly try to do that but I don't think I have never used phpMyAdmin and I am not sure if I will know how to edit or delete the user. Also, since it appears li...
