Re: New URLs has .html old one's doesn't.

the best thing you can do is uninstall the seo MOD . it is not going to help you and will only cause problems like this. google has no problem at all with the standard phpbb file names etc. robert ^^ this. You don't gain any "SEO" despite the name. It's a bloated mod as is, all you gain is the URLs...

I'm under the impression that was fixed in the latest version.
Likely, I haven't used phpBB in a while and only the first release haha

Re: [RC] reCAPTCHA 2.0

It still beats v1, but if Q&A was working for you, why switch? ;) Then, i think the phpbb team should just update it to v2.0. The setup appears to be the same. I thought it is fancier and looks better. Easier to just click a button than typing the answer. But if it isnt as reliable... The Q&A will ...

Re: New URLs has .html old one's doesn't.

Hello, Recently , I checked my webmaster tools account and I realized there is lots of crawl erros because of my old url type. My old url type doesn't contains .html in the end but my new type does. For example it's like this ; Old URL : http://www.phpbb.com/community/old-url-f858/ New URL : http:/...

Re: dreaded Internal Server Error

You should always do your upgrades/changes on a test environment first before doing it in production. But with that said, if your php.ini file was configured to report errors, it would display them on screen when they occurred. Since it is not, check your error log for your web server, guaranteed it...

Re: Update from 3.0.13 error

Yes, it is WAMP.. pasted: Server Configuration Apache Version : 2.4.9 - Documentation PHP Version : 5.5.12 - Documentation Server Software: Apache/2.4.9 (Win64) PHP/5.5.12 sorry, put an extra dot between the 1 and 2 in the php version. Either way, I think the docs call for anything greater than 5.3...

Re: Update from 3.0.13 error

sounds like you are working on the wrong database or the wrong table prefix for the right database. how do you have the server on your local machine? are you using wamp or what? there is no php version 5.5.1.2 http://php.net/releases/ also, those errors are telling you that the files are not all th...

Re: new fresh install of 3.1.5 and emails are not being sent out.

I would not depend on Hostgator's PHP mail, especially with a gmail From address. Use a proper SMTP host. ^^ This. If you intend to use a Gmail address to send your board emails, you need to configure phpBB to use Gmail's SMTP, otherwise most mail servers will just reject the email since the header...

Re: [RC] reCAPTCHA 2.0

I installed it about 3 days ago. I noticed that phpBB does come with the simple reCaptcha , which i guess may be v1? Anyway, since ive switched from the Q&A Captcha to this, i got two spammers today. So, it appears it isnt very affective. It still beats v1, but if Q&A was working for you, why switc...

Re: app.php routing issue

The only other way without rewrite is to... well... not use rewrite. I don't actually know exactly how the extension system works specifically, but surely you can create your own calendar directory with it's own index.php that doesn't depend on rewrite engine? Otherwise just uncomment it, but note t...

Re: New reCaptcha 2.0

if the simple Q&A is doing the job then why would you want to have to install some MOD and make it more complicated than it has to be for you and your members. robert Personally I just want to try it out, see if it actually does work, as it's now just a check box for the majority of users. (as I un...

The "No CAPTCHA" that debuted earlier this month. https://www.google.com/recaptcha/intro/index.html I haven't seen any new MODs/Extensions written for it yet. Interested to see how effective a simple checkbox like that would be, and how soon bots will be reprogrammed to beat it. It's more than a ch...

Re: any way to have a seperate username in 3.1?

I have made custom profile fields for things like that in the older versions. I'm sure that will also work in phpBB 3.1.1 That would require edits in the templates to show that separate username where you want it. Or did you have a mod for that in the older versions that you are wanting in phpBB 3....
